Home Staging Facts and Statistics

The Real Estate Staging Association recently released findings on a study using data from January 2012 to December 2012.

RESA tracked 89 homes that were on the market and not staged. They remained on the market for an average of 166 days. After the homes were staged  they received an offer within 32 days, the study found. And 9 of those homes had multiple offers!

"RESA evaluated 359 homes that were staged before they went on the market. The homes on average, received an offer within 26 days after being professionally staged. Nearly 70 of those homes received multiple offers too."

The longer a home sits on the market, the lower the selling price might be.

A staged home will sell, on average, 17% higher than a home that is not staged. (US Housing and Urban Development)

Statistical data shows that 9 out of 10 people have trouble visualizing how an unfurnished home could appear when finished.

Staging triggers an emotional connection with a buyer and buyers tend to buy on emotion.
